I have read that in type 2 diabetes, the symptoms can be virtually non-existent, so how can you tell?

I was diagnosed with type 2 in October of last year, and I think I had it a long time before I did something about it. First you are thirsty all the time, and then of course, you have to *** all the time. I would be fine during the day and then just feel miserable for no apparent reason, although now, it was because my blood glucose was either really too high or way too low. But get a blood test from your doctor, and have him run the hemaglobin A1 test, it will tell you real quick if you have diabetes or not. It is basically a 3 month history of your blood-glucose level. Most non diabetics are arounf 6 – 6.5, mine was 13! It means my blood glucose level had been over 300 for months which is really dangerous. I am now controling diabetes with just diet and exercise and feeling a lot better. GOOD LUCK! Don’t take diabetes lightly, it can be a really bad disease.

It’s so prevalent in my family that everyone gets checked regularly. Some people say when you have diabetes you are unusually thirsty, and your urine has a strong odor. Some people are unusually tired. You can have it a long time and not realize it. If you think you have it go in and get checked.

3 words – Polyphagia, polydipsia, and polyuria. They mean to eat a lot, drink a lot, and *** a lot. Those are questions we are taught to ask patients to screen for diabetes. Other things DM II can do is cause nerve damage, kidney damage, and eye damage. It raises blood pressure and can increase your risk of heart attacks. Bad thing all around. To diagnose it see your doctor and get a fasting blood glucose level.

it can go on for a long period of time before it is noticed. This can be dangerious over time. If you have risk factors you should be checked from time to time. Or just get to know the symptoms and watch out for them. I am a type 1 so my situation was different but I was the one that noticed something was wrong with me and saw the doctor.
I was always thirsty, in return going to the bathroom all the time
always hungry but lost weight with out trying was always tired stuff like that.
