Can diabetes be controlled by diet and exercise alone for how many years?

for how many years one can control diabetes by diet and exercise after it is confirmed. currently, i have type 2 with fasting glucose level early in the morning @ 96 .
3 months back it is 128 @ in the morning.
dont know for how many years it can be like this with good diet and exercise?
curious . any answers .

My dr. told me that it is a progressive disease so the better you control your diet and exercise the longer you can go without meds or insulin.

No one can say how long, just keep a good balanced diet and keep active with some exercise.
You will want to go to the Dr on a regular basis to get it monitored

type 2 can be controlled by diet and exercise alone in most cases…and by losing weight it can be eliminated. type 1 has to be controlled with insulin

Theoretically, for the rest of your life. It’s all in the diet and keeping the fat off. As long as you don’t overwork your pancreas with excess refined carbohydrates and stay reasonably active, you’ll enjoy a normal life. I do, and I’m 56. I’ve been diabetic for 5 years, and struggled and struggled until I found this simple formula:
As far as that nonsense answer that it’s a progressive disease… yes it can be, if the patient is following the bozo doctor’s advice and continues the crappy diet and the sulfonylureas (and other drugs) which wear out your pancreas. Doctors have no interest in curing people… the medical industry at large would go bankrupt in a hurry if people followed a simple, nutritious diet and exercise plan instead of the usual junky food and pharmaceutical recommendations that abound. The answers are out there folks, you just won’t find them in your doctor’s office.
I searched and searched all over for alternative ideas when my doctor’s advice was to take more drugs. Once I stumbled on the obvious, (natural foods), the rest was easy.

i found out i had diabetes when i was 16, and all those years i took care of myself with diet and exercise. im 29 now but im using insulin cause im 8 months pregnant. and hopefully after having my baby i can go back to just diet to control my blood sugar.

It can go on for quite a few years if you keep doing all the good things. As you get older though, your body can change and you may need the meds again. I have met a lot of people at the diabetic educational classes that I go to that have controlled their disease like this for 10 and 15 years so far. The disease is not cured, it is just being controlled. They get high readings when they are sick, but things get back to normal after they get over the illness. I was like this for awhile, I was able to not use drugs, but as I got older, so did my pancreas. Now I am insulin dependent. Do it as long as you can.

With the following exercises you will control the diabetes for ever and will stay healthy.
These pranayam exercises will help control the diabetes and the side effects.Build up the timing gradually.If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later.The benefits will be noticed in weeks as the sugar level is checked daily.Over the long tern the diabetes will be in full control and the medicine(if any) can be reduced in consultation with the doctor.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then – close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
